2 Things That Aren't True About Beeswax Honey Candles®

beeswax pillar candlesI admit it, when I have a few free minutes I browse the internet. I look for what other people are saying about beeswax candles. Sometimes I find articles I agree with and sometimes I don’t agree with what they say. I occasionally find people generalizing about beeswax candles and saying some thing that I know isn’t true about Honey Candles® beeswax candles. I can’t speak for what other beeswax candle companies do but here are two things that I found yesterday that I know are not true of Honey Candles® beeswax candles.

  1. That beeswax is bleached chemically before color is added to make the colors brighter. Honey Candles® uses very light beeswax for our colors, it is pearly white. But we don’t make it that way using chemical bleach. Our Pearl beeswax is achieved by a natural filtration process. There are no chemicals involved. We either make our Pearl beeswax into candles after it is filtered and sell it as Pearl or we color it. That is how we get our vibrant and beautiful colors. Our darker colors do not require the filtration process.
  2. That beeswax is deodorized before it is scented. We have a line called the Honey Candles® Essentials that is made with pure beeswax and delicately scented with pure essential oils. Honey Candles® does not deodorize our beeswax. I’m not even sure how that is done. We take 100% pure beeswax and use our tested blends of pure essential oils to make votives and tins that smell deliciously of honey and essential oils. What could be more perfect and natural than that?

I guess what I would like our readers to know – don’t believe generalizations about candles. Other candle wax companies may make blanket statements about beeswax and it may be true about some beeswax candles and not others. Some candle safety companies make generalized statements about candle care that aren’t true for all types of candles. Be a critical thinker and find out if those statements are true about the candle company you buy from and decide then if you would rather switch.

Honey Candles® beeswax candles are made in Canada from pure Canadian beeswax, making it a true product of Canada. Here is our on-line store if you’d like a closer look.
