Fantastic Changes at Honey Candles

Fantastic Changes at Honey Candles

2016 has been a year of growth and change at Honey Candles. The staff was excited and pleased when they found out that after 16 years of running the business of Honey Candles, Roy and Leah Honkanen are passing it on to their daughter Alecia and son-in-law Stephen. Alecia grew up on the Honkanen homestead where the Honey Candles candle shop is located. She has come home. Alecia and Stephen bring a young family of three daughters, one newly arrived the beginning of December. It’s not hard to see why they have chosen to come back to Kaslo. The outdoor Kootenay lifestyle is second to none in Canada. Honey Candles is growing and stretching and we are grateful for the management experience they bring to the business.

The office of Honey Candles has always been in the house and with demands of a big family it has been moved into a brand new building across the driveway! We love it! We don’t expect too much to change right away (why change a good thing?).  Leah and Roy are still involved through the transition with help and guidance. Stephen and Alecia bring fresh energy to the business. We imagine their new ideas to show up as different beeswax candle presentations emerge in the coming year! We already saw a sample of this in the Heritage Drip Pillar candles released this fall.

Join the staff in welcoming Stephen and Alecia to the Honey Candles adventure! We wish a very Merry Christmas to our loyal customers! We are so looking forward to what 2017 has around the corner for us and you!
