Important Information about Honey Candles® Beeswax Blocks

beeswax blocksHoney Candles Ltd. has moved away from plastic packaging over the years. We still have some but in a move to eliminate more we have made the recent decision to not wrap our 1 and 1.8 pound beeswax blocks in plastic. We have never wrapped our smaller medallions and now the blocks will join them free of plastic wrapping. I read an article this morning that made me realize this is a very good idea. If all the humans were to disappear tomorrow the evidence of our time would remain for 50 million years and the proof would be plastics still not broken down.

Some stores may be concerned that the blocks will collect dust in the grooves of the patterns on the blocks. This may be true but if the blocks do collect dust it is a simple matter of either the store or the customer who buys it to run warm water over the beeswax. The dust is washed off in seconds.

I have another tip worth sharing here for beeswax candles have been around for a while. If they are 100% pure beeswax they will ‘bloom’. Bloom is the film that forms on all beeswax candle over time and is an indicator of the purity of the beeswax. If you prefer a freshly poured looking beeswax candle you can use warm air from a blow hair dryer to remove it or take a soft cloth and lightly buff it. It won’t be long before the beeswax candle is shiny and new looking again.

Beeswax Honey Candles® are handmade in Canada from pure Canadian beeswax.
